Alexandria, Virginia is an urban hub in the southern part of the Potomac river, just north of Washington, D.C. It is known for its Old Town Square, with restored 18th and 19th century buildings and brick sidewalks. King Street is also lined with boutiques, specialty stores and historical museums.

Carlyle House Historic Park was founded by founding fathers Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr. The park includes two Victorian houses that are part of the park and is dedicated to the first families to settle in what would become Alexandria. The Park features an extensive lawn, picnic areas and paths. There are several paths that connect the park to the rest of the town.

Alexander Hamilton was buried at the Carlyle House. Alexander's grave is accessible through the front entrance and features marble inscriptions and a marble headstone. Other marble markers have been found throughout the city. The grave was moved to a different cemetery but has not yet been replaced. Many tourists visit the site to pay tribute to the first president of the United States.

In addition to the park, visitors can find a Museum of the Life of George Washington. This museum is open from May until October and features artifacts and displays on the life of the first president. One exhibit displays Washington's diary for two weeks prior to the Battle of Yorktown in 1778. Another feature displays his hat as well as clothing and some other items.

There are many parks and museums in Alexandria VA. One of the largest parks in the area is located in historic Centreville. It features a nature center, playground, hiking trails and several different picnic areas. Centerville also has a historic museum that features early photographs of the area. Visitors can also tour the local courthouse and Colonial-style homes on Main Street.

City Park hosts a number of events throughout the year. The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts exhibits an array of fine arts and crafts from around the world. The Virginia Zoo houses hundreds of exotic animals. The Charles W. Biddle Garden features the largest collection of birds and butterflies in the entire state.

The Alexandria VA Convention Center, located in a historic warehouse, provides an excellent venue for business meetings. It offers flexible event space and conference facilities.

A variety of businesses offer office rental in the downtown area including home offices and office space for companies and small businesses. Several business owners have their own offices in City Park. Some of these include Dell Computers, Dell & Associates, American Continental, Best Buy, and American Continental Insurance.

Alexandria VA is home to the National Zoo. The zoo features thousands of animals that are native to the region. The zoo features several species of alligators, gerbils, snakes, turtles, peacocks, hamsters, deer, and a variety of animals that can be found in the natural environment of the region. The zoo features several exhibits that are designed to educate people about the animals and how to care for them in captivity.

The downtown area of Alexandria VA also includes the U.S. Army War Memorial. This area is home to several historical and educational attractions. The Jefferson Memorial, one of the seven wonders of the world, is located nearby. The National WWII Memorial, located in nearby Yorktown, displays a variety of artifacts related to the Second World War.

Alexandria VA is home to many museums and art galleries. Among these is the American Art Museum, located in Centerville.

The City of Alexandria VA is located in historic Petersburg. It is served by the Capital Beltway and includes three major airports: Dulles International Airport, Reagan National Airport and Baltimore Washington International Airport. The City of Alexandria VA is home to a number of businesses including a number of restaurants and retail stores.

The Alexandria VA area offers plenty of reasons to visit and experience in and around the area. The area is home to a diverse population.
